Why is my iMac keyboard not working?

Is this the keyboard of an iMac (the subject of this forum section), or the Macbook Air 13" shown in your equipment profile? Keyboard issue are very different between desktop and notebook computers, and iMac have shippped with a dizzying array of board model since their introduction in 1998.
