How to like photos by 2 criteria (Mac Photos app)

Hi!

I have thousands of photos. In each photo shoot (for example 100 photos), I LIKE 10 of them, but then how do I MARK for SELECTION my 2-3 best? Or my wife's favorites?

In other programs (Aperture used to be great), you had colors, you could like with green, and then select with another color like red.

In Photos you only have "Favorites", that's not enough! I need other criteria (for example I like = green, my wife likes = yellow, we select = red).

Is there a way to do that? Will there ever be a way to do that?

I rate pictures using five stars. (I learned about the open and closed stars from léonie.) I use keyword shortcuts to add the number of stars. Then I can use "Filter" to show just the favorites or 3 stars or whatever.

I've got to say, this seems way better than colors!

Make a keyword for each of your criteria. Add as required to each photo. Then you can search for the keyword or use a smart album.

As for future plans that Apple may - or may not - have for any of their products, no one here knows, or if anyone does they'd be prohibited by an NDA from disclosing it. However, I would suggest that if Photos was going to match the power of Aperture it would have done so by now. I doubt it ever will, it's just a different animal a different user.
