How do I connect Apple Pencil to Find My on iPad?

Do you have an Apple Pencil Pro? These are the only Pencils that can be added to Find My.

If it is, you first need to pair the Pencil to your iPad so that it become associated with your Apple Account.

Only the Apple Pencil Pro (released in 2024) supports Find My integration, and that’s only available on iPads with a USB-C connector like the iPad Air 4th gen or newer, iPad Pro (USB-C models), and the 10th gen iPad.

Here’s are the basic steps to connect the Pencil Pro to Find My:

1. Attach the Pencil to your iPad using the magnetic side. The iPad will automatically pair it.
2. Wait a few seconds — a pairing animation should show up. Tap Connect if prompted.
3. After it's connected, go to your iPad's Settings > Bluetooth and make sure it’s listed as “Apple Pencil Pro” and shows “Connected”.
4. Now, open the Find My app.
5. Tap the Devices tab. You should now see your Apple Pencil Pro listed.
6. Tap on it, and you'll get location details or a “Play Sound” option if it's nearby.
