AppleCare Canceled Without Notice After Changing App Store Country

Hi everyone,

A few months ago, I purchased AppleCare+ for my device (iPhone), but yesterday I realized that I no longer have coverage. I checked my emails, but I never received any notification or warning that my AppleCare+ would be canceled.

The only change I made recently was switching my App Store country to a different one from where I originally purchased AppleCare+. Could this have automatically canceled my AppleCare+? If so, I find it really unfair and risky that my coverage could end without any notice.

Is there any way to get my AppleCare+ back? It's been more than 3 months since I bought my phone. Would switching my App Store country back to the original one help in any way?

Thanks in advance for any insights!

No one here works for Apple. This is a user to user only forum. You'll need to ask Apple directly what happened. If you're in the US, you can call Apple at 800-MY-APPLE. Otherwise, you can use this link to contact Apple --> Contact - Official Apple Support

You're welcome. We just wouldn't know why the plan may have been cancelled. I'm sure Apple can explain. Keep in mind that iPhone's are sold regionally. AppleCare+ plans are not available in all countries or regions, and their availability can vary depending on the specific product and the country of purchase.

Result of the conversation with support in case someone comes across this in the future:

The issue was indeed caused by changing the country in the App Store. The agent was very dedicated, consulting other departments and even suggesting ways to avoid this problem in the future.

However, since 3 months had passed since the coverage ended, they refused to reactivate AppleCare+. I even offered to pay retroactively, but the answer was still no.

I am very frustrated and gave feedback that they should clearly inform users in such cases (via email, for example). Otherwise, someone could have their phone stolen or damaged without realizing their coverage had ended, leading to an unpleasant surprise when trying to use it.

TL;DR: Changing the country in the App Store caused the issue. Called support, and they tried to help, but since several months had passed since the coverage ended, they couldn’t reactivate AppleCare+, even when I offered to pay retroactively. I expressed my frustration and suggested better communication with users.
