using magic mouse with macbook air m2 macos 15.4 overreacting

my mouse reacts too quickly and often before I choose the precise function. Just moving the cursor already leads to unwanted reactions of the mouse. This is recent, after the latest update to macos 15.4

MacBook Air, macOS 15.4

Clean the Mouse Sensor: Dirt or debris on the sensor can cause tracking issues. Turn off the mouse and gently clean the sensor with compressed air or a soft cloth.

Check Battery Levels: Low battery power can lead to erratic behavior. Ensure your Magic Mouse is adequately charged.

Reset Bluetooth Connection: Disconnect and then reconnect your Magic Mouse to refresh the Bluetooth connection. Go to Apple menu > System Settings > Bluetooth, remove the mouse, and then pair it again.

Adjust Mouse Settings: Verify that your mouse settings are configured correctly. Navigate to Apple menu > System Settings > Mouse, and ensure the "Secondary click" option is set appropriately.

Check for Interference: Wireless devices can be affected by interference from other electronic devices. Ensure that your Magic Mouse is used in an environment free from potential sources of wireless interference.

If the issue persists after these steps, consider contacting Apple Support or visiting an Apple Authorized Service Provider for further assistance.

There are numerous posts about magic mouse problems after "updating" to sequoia. No solution from apple, yet. They even edited my comment about it because it wasn't to their liking. Anyway, I have ongoing unresolved problems with the magic mouse. It jumps, it halts, and the keyboard similarly has stopped working correctly since the upgrade. Good luck.

I have this with different mouses and also keyboards as well, mouse via bluetooth dongle on a USB-C Dock from belkin and it lease to intermittened strange behaviour like the mouse selection just drops after a couple of seconds even the mouse button is still pressed and strange flickering sometimes. So it seems it is not only magic mouse speficific.
