How do I type the accent mark in "Cliché" on Pages?

In Pages — Where is the "mark" for over the e in the word cliche?

Although I too favor the press and hold of the 'e' key for the selection of the acute (´) accent, one can also press and hold the option key, first typing 'e', releasing the option key, and then typing 'e' again.

Thanks for the second option. Both are new and interesting features of Pages, which I use daily.

So much to learn... and loving all of it.

Thanks for the follow-up.

Not just Pages -- virtually anywhere you enter text on your Mac, including this forum "cliché", Microsoft Word, Text Edit, etc.
