Can I be scammed by buying a stolen iPhone with Apple Care Plus?

Honestly, think about it. If someone bought a brand new phone from Apple, they could have easily returned it for any reason in the first 14 days for a full refund. Why then would someone be selling a brand new phone to someone? It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. But again, it's your money and if you can afford to lose it, do as you want.

If so, that's a red flag. Stay away. Far, far away.

They can very easily seal the device again, and if they ordered the device with their carrier, they can contact the carrier and have the IMEI blocked.

Sounds like you already have your mind made up. Up to you how you decide to move forward. Members here have provided their input based on our knowledge and the information provided in the link that lobsterghost1 provided.
