Translation:

Scribble always converts words to English, regardless of the keyboard language you choose

Good morning! I'm using iPad Air (4th generation) with iPadOS 18.1.1. I have added Polish and Swedish keyboards, Scribble is enabled in the settings. However, when you write by hand in the Notes app, the text is always converted to English words (and often wrongly), no matter what keyboard language I choose.

I've already tried changing the language via globe, restarting the iPad, turning off and on Scribble, but the problem persists. It looks like writing recognition always works in English by default. Has anyone had a similar problem or knows the solution?

I've provided the English translation in case one of our expert volunteers here can help. If no one can help, then please contact Apple Support, using the link below.

Hi, I have sent my question concerning scribble to Polish and English Apple forum at the same time in two languages. I have send it in Polish in case that some Polish users experienced the same problem and can help me. I used Swedish language as well, and I had exactly the same problem with Scribble. Conversion from a handwriten text with the Apple pen in "Notes" creates very strange English text, not a Swedish text.

Thank you for your help!

Dear LotusPilot,

Thank you for your kind answer. Now I do understand that it was not a problem with particular options in my iPad AIR, but the Swedish, Polish and also Spanish languages are not supported in Scribble, however they work perfectly in many other applications like dictating system "voice-text conversion", etc.

Do you perhaps know if Apple plans to include one of these languages in the close future?

With regards

Leszek
