How can I turn off magnifier pointer on my MacBook Pro?

My cursor/ pointer on my MacBook keeps changing to a magnifying glass and I cannot change it back. I am unable to use the cursor to access settings.

I have had to restart my computer 3 times. But it keeps switching to a magnifying glass somehow. Now, my screen is zoomed.

how do I change the cursor/ pointer back to its regular state if I cannot use the cursor/ pointer at all?

Does my mac have a virus?

Do you know how I can access System Preferences without the cursor? Once it is in this magnifier situation, I cannot access System Preferences.

The links describe how to entirely disable the magnifier function using settings (and this can happen, well, now), and also describe the keys that are used to show and clear the magnifier.

Which means you can understand both how to prevent the magnifier from ever showing, and if you decide to use it, how to manage the magnifier when it does show.
