How to add apps to the MacBook Air Home Screen permanently in Guest User

Hi All, I am trying to set up the Guest User on a MacBook Air so that apps and weblinks can be featured permanently on the Home Screen (Desktop) for easier access. Currently the apps delete the shortcut added to the Home Screen after logging out and I can't find the full answer online. If anyone knows of a way to do that it would be really appreciated. Thank you

By Apple's definition a Guest User is a temporary user, one who's files and folders will be deleted when the user signs out.

❝Files created by a guest are stored in a temporary folder, but this folder and its contents are deleted when the guest logs out.❞

If you wish to allow guests the use of your Mac with settings and configurations that are more permanent in nature, consider creating a standard user. This can be set up as you wish and will not be deleted when the user signs out.

Keeping Folder As a Guest User:

The only way I can see doing this is by permitting the Guest User to connect to shared folders. But, the would permit read abilities --not permanent write abilities. So, report back if it works...

  1. Go to: Apple meu
  2. Select: System Settings
  3. Select: Users & Groups
  4. Click: the encircled "i" to the far right of Guest User
  5. Toggle On: Allow guest users to connect to shared folders
  6. Use: Your credentials
  7. Restart: your Mac
  8. Log In: as the Guest User
