Why does my SSD keep disconnecting from my Mac Studio?

I have an ASUS TUF A1 NVMe enclosure with a Silicon Power US75 4TB M.2 SSD inside.

I use it on my M4 Max Mac Studio desktop. It keeps disconnecting and reconnecting randomly, for no apparent reason.

I've tried different ports, different cables, but it keeps happening.

I don't know if the problem is with the enclosure, the SSD or the Mac.

Lack of power from the Mac, maybe? I'm currently using 4 USB-C ports at the same time. Should I get a powered USB-C hub and connect the SSD to that instead of straight to the Mac?

Or the Silicon Power SSD is failing? It IS a cheap brand, after all.

There are many reports here of Bus powered drives that do not drop into low power mode when the Mac decides it's time. The easiest to understand is when the Mac enters sleep.

Instead, they disconnect, and may have to run DiskRepair/FirstAid to get them workable again.

The solution is to buy an enclosure that properly implements low power mode, or provide more stable power from an external power supply. Maybe a powered USB hub would work in some cases,
