Unable to connect iPhone 15 to 2023 MacBook

I am currently facing an issue connecting my iPhone 15 to my 2023 MacBook. My MacBook is available to connect, however, when I choose it, my phone tells me that it is unable to connect to it. I have updated and restarted both devices and have them on the same Wifi. I have also gone to the settings and allowed for both devices to have AirPlay Receiver. Both devices are under the same account, so I am unsure what is causing the issue.

Airplay does not require they be directly connected. Airplay works over Wi-Fi.

If you have enabled airplay receiver on the Mac, the iPhone should be able to Airplay to it.

Do you have a firewall or antivirus installed and enabled on the Mac? If so, remove them.

If you have no active firewall or anti-virus, try re-starting both devices.

Connect them how exactly?

If you are trying to pair them directly over bluetooth, then that is not possible, nor is it necessary.

Bluetooth pairing is not, nor has it ever been supported between Macs and iOS devices.

For almost all things that use Bluetooth, direct pairing is not required. Only that bluetooth be turned on.

What exactly are you trying to accomplish by "connecting" them?

What is the end goal?
