How to use Microsoft Word for Mac without a subscription?

I got a new MACbook air. the macword app from old one seems to require a password /subscription on the new one. Is there a way to use MACword without a subscription?

They offer a "one-time" purchase for Office Home 2024 for $149.99. Go to https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/buy/compare-all-microsoft-365-products and scroll down. You can buy it there.


Other options:

Use the free and very good Libre Office https://www.libreoffice.org/

or the free Microsoft Office on the web: https://products.office.com/en-us/free-office-online-for-the-web
