imac g5 can't install macos x leopard

Hello, I bought an iMac G5 at a flea market. Everything is fine, it has Linux installed, but I want to install macOS. I tried to enter recovery to install the system from a pendrive or from a disc. But nothing, there is no sound and no apple logo when starting.

Ps. i managed to boot a ubuntu install disc without having to enter recovery

If it is really a G5 as you describe the thing is about 25 years old. Because it is running Linux (not Mac OS) you are pretty much on your own. We do not support G5’s, Linux or PS on these forums. I would recommend researching Linux to see if the computer supports a version of PS or a similar app.

To be perfectly honest just have some fun with the thing, it’s really worthless as far as monetary value goes, has little if any support.

If this is your only Mac I’d urge you to buy one that is at least from 2021.

You're going to have to hunt down the original OSX install disk that came with that model if you want OS X installed.

You may as well just stick with Linux though if you managed to get it installed. Any version of OS X that will run on that is so obsolete as to be useless for anything other than a museum display.

You will be hard pressed to access the internet on it though. Safari and Firefox versions for the G5 won't load many sites. You could try TenFourFox if it's still around, but it's quite limited.
