Setting up localhost on macOS Sequoia

I'm having trouble finding information on how to set up a localhost in Sequoia. I assume it's still possible, but not sure. I run Mamp Pro, but would like to create an HTML version of some smaller apps that will run outside of MAMP. Anyone know where to find info on the subject?

Localhost is simply a shorthand for services running on the loopback interface which has the RFC defined address of 127.0.0.1. "Localhost" just means you are running a server on your own machine for clients also on your own machine.

You don't "set up" a localhost instance. A server runs a service that establishes a listening port on 127.0.0.1 and then you can connect to it with a browser (if the service serves a web portal or dashboard of some kind), or with some other service that connects as a client to your server.
