My iPhone 14 Pro Max will not charge.

Every night I will plug my iPhone 14 Pro Max in and fall asleep listening to a podcast. In the middle of the night last night my phone stopped charging and now will not take a charge. I have tried switching the cords, outlet, and the block that I'm plugging the cord in. I know for a fact these outlets are working because I have a few other appliances plugged into different ones throughout the room. I got it to charge for a split second but it wouldn't stick. I'm assuming there's something wrong with the actual port on the phone itself. I just don't know how that could have happened, so just wondering if anyone else has had this issue. If so, how did you go about fixing it?

Search for accessories that have completed MFi certification. Once an accessory has completed MFi certification requirements and is reported to Apple as sold/distributed, it will be searchable in our public database of authorized Lightning, headset, charging, iAP-enabled, and Find My network-enabled accessories.

Learn how to identify counterfeit or uncertified Lightning-based accessories.

Follow these steps:

  • Remove any debris from the charging port on the bottom of your device.
  • Restart your iPhone or iPod touch.
  • Try a different USB cable or charger.
  • Make sure you have the latest version of iOS.

If you have very carefully cleaned out the port with a wooden or plastic toothpick and the problem remains, the battery itself may be at fault or there may be board problem on the iPhone.

Tap Settings > Battery > Battery Health & Charging and check on the Maximum Capacity of the battery. If it is under 80%, it is time to replace the battery.

Otherwise, there may be board problem or a physical problem with the port itself. Hopefully, that is not the case because Apple will not replace the port, they will offer a much more expensive board replacement or in some cases, a refurbished phone at a reduced price.

Make an appointment at the Apple Store / Genius bar, or it may be easier to take the phone to a local shop that is closer to your home. You can find a list of authorized service shops in your area using this link:
