Sequoia 15.4 Issue with PAGES disappearing into the "background"

I updated, without any issues, 15.4 a week ago.

I have my Chrome OR Safari browser "active". Issue happens when either browser is being used.

Reduced to my DOCK are multiple opened apps. 1 "PAGES", 1 "NUMBERS", and 1 "EXCEL".

IF the browser is "active", and I click on the Excel OR Numbers spreadsheet in the dock, the spreadsheet pops up on top of the browser, becomes "active" (browser is then INactive of course), and I can work on either, then minimize to the dock again, and the browser is still in front of me (though needing to be activated). So far, so good.

However, when the browser is "active" and I click on my PAGES doc, the document shows itself quickly but is immediately taken to the background ("behind" the browser), and the browser is still there in front of me (though inactive).

In fact, when I show both active apps via my (right) "Shift key", and then CLICK ON the PAGES doc, it still immediately disappears into the background again - this time even though the browser is NOT active.

The ONLY way I can get the PAGES doc to stay on top of the browser is if the browser is NOT "active" - then the PAGES doc WILL stay there, OR, when one of the spreadsheets is first selected and already "on top" - THEN all 3 show on top of one another and from there I CAN select the PAGES doc.

Then the PAGES doc WILL stay on top of the browser, BUT behind the spreadsheet. But it CAN be clicked on, and it will stay on top, and CAN be worked on.

For either, or both spreadsheets, it works as it should, that is the spreadsheet(s) will appear stacked on top of the browser regardless of the browser being active or not.

BTW, the 15.4 update appears to have screwed up a LOT of my Chrome bookmarks. Haven't touched Chrome at all.

Anybody have any ideas ?

instead of minimizing to the Dock— put those apps in full Screen mode and compare your results

Use apps in full screen on Mac

View open windows and spaces in Mission Control on Mac
