How do I keep my MacBook Air configured to my external screen permanently?

As it is, I have to manually reconfigure my Display every time I log on. Easily done, but a real pain. I never had to do this on my other MacBooks. They always mirrored to the screen automatically upon booting up. Moving the little bar, even while holding down the option button, gives no joy. I'm running version Sequoia 15.3.2 (24D81) on my Air.

To maintain a consistent connection between your MacBook Air and an external display, ensure your MacBook is connected to a power source and the external monitor is properly connected and powered on.

In System Settings, navigate to Battery, click Options, and enable "Prevent automatic sleeping on power adapter when the display is off.

"Then, go to Lock Screen and set "Turn display off on power adapter when inactive" to Never.

Properly configure clamshell mode by connecting an external keyboard and mouse, allowing you to close the MacBook lid without disrupting the external display.

Regularly check for macOS updates via System Settings > General > Software Update to ensure optimal performance and compatibility.
