How to choose the right Solo Bands size for Apple Watch?

What band size for Solo bands? Wrist size: 5.75 in (14.5 cm) Watch size: 41mm

If you don't have an Apple Store near you, here's a simple DIY method to test Solo Loop sizes at home using either a soft measuring tape or a paper/plastic strip. Since you're teetering between sizes 2 and 3, this should help you simulate the feel of both.

What You’ll Need:

  • A soft measuring tape (tailor’s style) — or a strip of paper or thin plastic about 1 inch (2.5 cm) wide and ~10 inches (25 cm) long
  • A ruler (if using paper/plastic strip)
  • Tape (to help hold things in place)
  • Your Apple Watch (for reference on fit)

Option #1: Using Measuring Tape:

  • Wrap the measuring tape snugly (not tightly) around the narrowest part of your wrist — where your watch sits. Note the measurement in inches or centimeters. You already have yours at 5.75 inches (14.5 cm).
  • Compare to Apple’s Solo Loop chart:
    • Size 2: ~5.6–5.9 in / 142–150 mm
    • Size 3: ~5.9–6.2 in / 150–157 mm
  • Try pulling the tape to simulate a snug band. If it feels comfy just slightly snug, that’s your likely size.

Option #2: Using Paper/Plastic Strip:

  • Cut a strip about 1 inch (2.5 cm) wide and 10 inches (25 cm) long.
  • Wrap it around your wrist snugly where your watch sits.
  • Mark the overlap point with a pencil or pen.
  • Lay it flat and measure from the tip to the mark with a ruler.
  • Cross-reference with Apple’s Solo Loop sizing chart.
  • Now simulate size 2 and size 3:
    • Cut two new strips: one exactly 142 mm long (size 2) and one 150 mm (size 3).
    • Tape them into loops and test how each one feels around your wrist.
    • Try both while wearing the 41mm watch face to simulate real usage.
