iPhone 16 Pro stolen in Thailand

Hello,

My iPhone 16Pro was stolen when robbed in Thailand. Reported to Thai Police. Returned to Australia next day. It had Int. Sim & Find My iPhone was not enabled. Telstra extended warranty & Int. SIM Comp. Travel Ins. didn't cover theft. I visited Telstra store (different store from purchase) and they were shocked to hear the purchase store hadn't guided me through enabling 'find my'. I had Apple Care as well but it was still registered to my old iPhone 14. I'm left to pay $1600 over 3years to Telstra. Someone mentioned contacting apple with the ID No. to see if there was anything they can do to help.

Thought to try here first in the hope of some guidance.
