Logitech webcam flickering FaceTime on external monitor

I have a new MacBook Air M4 and a new BenQ27OU monitor. I purchased a Logitech C920s HD Webcam and a Satechi multiport slim adapter. I experience consistent picture flickering when using FaceTime with the webcam. I worked with Logitech support to resolve the issue. I followed their instructions regarding using Tune software, ensured the refresh rate was set at 60Hz, all software for the MacBook was up to date. The problem has not been resolved.

Are there other actions I can try? I purchased this webcam based on reviews that indicated it was a good choice for a Mac. However, since working on this problem, I'm suspecting that it is not a good choice for a Mac, and perhaps Logitech webcams in general, might not be.

A related question is whether the adapter I'm using is not appropriate either. I hoped to use the ethernet connection with it, but I stopped doing that because the computer didn't respond well. I will need an adapter for the MacBook Air as I have the webcam and EarPods and a light to plug in. Are there other adapters that I should consider?

I would appreciate assistance with this situation.

Thanks

Vezzie

Set external monitor to 60Hz:

System Settings > Displays > Refresh Rate → Choose 60Hz.

Install Logi Tune or Webcam Settings app:

Set anti-flicker to 60Hz (US) or 50Hz (Europe).

Use a different USB port (preferably directly on Mac).

Test webcam in another app (like QuickTime) to confirm it’s FaceTime-specific.
