Why won't my AirPods 4 connect to any device?

I'm beyond frustrated. Got these AirPods 4 in December 2024 (it's only 4/25 now). I was using them with no problems earlier but all of a sudden the right AirPod wouldn't register to my phone and the case isn't acknowledging it. I looked up what to do and after turning bluetooth on and off again with no results I hit "forget device" so that I could pair it again to my phone. Now it's like my AirPods don't exist to any of my devices. I tried calling support for help, I tried following every troubleshooting thing I could find on this site. I double tapped (why the **** did they get rid of the physical button?) with no results. 90% of the time I double tap nothing happens at all, the other 10% of the time I get it to do the fast flashing but still doesn't connect at all to my phone. The nearest apply store to me is over an hour away. This is unbelievable how shotty the quality is and how many other people I've seen with identical problems to this. Anyone else have any luck with this issue? I'm ready to pull out my hair.

I hate to tell you but I believe they were likely purchased elsewhere. These are definitely acting like fakes. If you have not already done so, check the warranty coverage using the link below. If they are covered, it would be probably be worth the hour drive to an appointment at your store's Genius Bar.

I just confirmed they are *not* fake and were bought from the Apple site. The coverage goes until October of this year. However my problem is even after I make this drive, what happens when the AirPods do the exact same thing in say November of this year when the coverage is over? I'm screwed out of money on a bad quality product for a problem I had nothing to do with. Frustrated with the issue as it seems that this is a very common problem with AirPods; I can't see a reason that it would be so common without a solution that won't put me out $130+ when this happens again.

UPDATE: Apple did me right. I was able to ship my AirPods to them and they had my AirPods fixed and returned back in-hand in about 3 days, it was seriously great how quickly they got on the issue and how painless it was. I saved money in gas and time on a Saturday that I got to spend with my husband instead of driving a 2-hour round trip to get these fixed. Really appreciated the fast turnaround time, total lifesaver :)
