Why does a caller's number appear different on my iPhone?

Yes could someone tell me what the deal is with a cal from someone and they left a message but the phone number that they called from looks totally different than any number that has ever called and the way it looks I don’t see it being dialed and going thru the way the number is displayed . Can someone tell me why this one number would show up like this
