Blue tooth doesn't recognize new Magic Trackpad

I installed Ventura 13.7.5 and two days later found that my track pad had cracked. Went into the store, bought the magic trackpad. When I connect with the cord, I can use it but it will not allow me to "personalize" the settings. The Bluetooth will not recognize it. I talked Apple twice and still have not been able to solve the problem. Checked in problems with 13.7.5. and reset the router, reset the computer completely and tested again....off and on the visual of the track pad has ghosted my screen..

Help!!
