My iPad Pro 11in 4th gen suddenly made the “Find my” noice again please help

Hi

What’s really happening with my iPad Pro 11in 4th gen? Is it kind of broken? It just made the “Find my” noise / tone / alarm again, it has happened twice now, and I’m afraid one day it would do it in the middle of the night, while everyone is sleeping. I didn’t ask Siri to find it, nor I tried to find it using the “Find my” app. Actually, I did that 2 days ago, but, as usual, the iPad Pro didn’t ring till 2 days after trying to find it using these methods.

The iPad has iOS 18.3.2, it’s 9 months old since unboxed and I use it with VoiceOver and Speak Screen ( Siri Neural TTS).

Also, it has volume issues, at 30% sometimes the VoiceOver voice is too loud.

Does it have a Hardware Problem? I really wanna know why does the “Find My” alarm starts ringing randomly even if I haven’t tryed to find it, but when I try to find it doesn’t work.

I’m suspecting a Hardware problem here, because it never has happened to me before with any other Apple Product I’ve owned.

What should I do to avoid this situation? I’ll definitely call Apple if it happens again, but I’m kind of confused.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Starting with playing a sound triggered using Find My, your iPad will only respond when it receives the command to do so - and this can only occur if your iPad has (a) an established internet connection and (b) is able to communicate with Apple's servers. Your description might suggest that your iPad doesn't have a reliable connection - and this can be influenced by a number of external factors of which you may have little control.

A restart of your WiFi/Internet router may be beneficial. To cleanly restart your router, completely disconnect its power - and wait for at least 30-seconds before reconnecting and allowing the router to restart. Restart may take several minutes.

If your iPad is not operating as expected, try a forced-restart - as this will often clear an isolated software issue:

Force restart iPad (models with Face ID or with Touch ID in the top button)

If your iPad doesn’t have the Home button, do the following:

  1. Press and quickly release the volume button nearest to the top button.
  2. Press and quickly release the volume button farthest from the top button.
  3. Press and hold the top button.
  4. When the Apple logo appears, release the top button.

If the problem persists after performing the restart, it may be necessary to reset your iPad settings. While this reset will not cause any loss of data, as a precaution, it is always wise to ensure that you have a current iCloud or iTunes backup before performing the reset:

When you are happy to proceed, you can perform the reset from iPad settings:

Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPad > Reset > Reset All Settings

If the problem still doesn’t clear, the next step is to reset the iPad to factory settings:

Otherwise, given your observations and concern, you might be best advised to seek assistance directly from Apple Support - and request a remote diagnostic test. You can contact the Support Team using the Support link at top-right or bottom-left of this page.

Alternatively, you can initiate and manage your support cases from Apple devices using the excellent Apple Support App. If not already installed, the App can be downloaded from the App Store:

You might also visit the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store or Apple Authorised Service Provider (AASP) - where the technicians will be able to test and assess your iPad - and you can explore your available options:

Ok. I just received an E-mail saying that my iPad has played a sound.

I’m pasting the message as it is:

Se ha reproducido un sonido en iPad Se ha reproducido un sonido en iPad a la(s) 23:40 CDT del 12 de abril de 2025.Usa la app Encontrar en un iPhone, iPad o Mac, o visita icloud.com/find para realizar otras acciones.

So, the iPad sound yesterday and I tried to find it 2 days before it made the sound.

Find My is the only app that makes the sound that I heard yesterday and the other day, so I can’t have another notification from a different app.

Now, it isn’t a WiFi problem, my iPad runs smoodly on my network and with the apps I use.

Like I said, I’ll definitely call Apple if it happens again because I think this is not normal at all
