Apple Contacts Crashes When Adding New Contact – Still in 2025

I’m using a MacBook Air 15-inch with the M3 chip (2024) running macOS Sequoia Version 15.3.2, and I’ve run into an ongoing, frustrating issue with the Apple Contacts app. Every time I click the [+] button to add a new contact, the app abruptly closes within 5 seconds or less of typing—making it impossible to create a new contact on my Mac.

After some digging, I discovered threads on Apple’s discussion forums reporting this exact issue as far back as 2021. It’s now 2025, and it’s still happening. Why has this still not been resolved?

APPLE — WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO FIX THIS?

This issue is incredibly annoying, especially when I’m working on my Mac and have to stop everything to switch to my iPhone just to save a new contact. I expect better from Apple when it comes to basic app functionality.

Please escalate this to your software team and provide an update or workaround. Enough users have reported this issue. It’s time for a solution.
