Over the weekend, I noticed that apps left running in the background would eventually quit without being prompted to do so. This would occur whether my computer had fall asleep or not, whether it was charging or on battery set to Low Power Mode. I contacted Support directly twice which resulted in minimal results but I can also confirm that my Time Machine simply does not work on my M3. Regardless, does anyone know what the **** is making my apps quit if left minimized/in the background for too long? It's driving me absolutely nuts especially if it's a browser as I'm prone to having too many tabs open.

To trouble shoot further you can:
—A SafeBoot Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support will sort many anomalies
Does a quick disk repair before it fully boots up, and certain system caches get cleared and rebuilt, third party system modifications and system accelerations are disabled temporarily.
Login and test. Reboot as normal and test. Caches get rebuilt automatically.
This test will tell you if third party interference; most extensions etc are not loaded in safe boot mode.
—Test issue in another user (or guest user) account Change Users & Groups settings on Mac - Apple Support
This will tell you if it a universal issue or isolated to your user/admin account.
***wireless keyboard with rechargeable batteries— connect the charging cable, this will make the wired keyboard successful Safe Boot your Mac.
unplug all non-essential peripherals when testing
Uninstall all third party apps that are Cleaners/Optimizers/VPN/Anti-Virus
all known to cause issues on the macOS
If no insight —
I would not minimize and compare your results.
Either put the app in Full screen to get it out of the way (a swipe away;)
or
use Command H to simply hide the app. The Command Tab will present the HUD (Headfs Up Display) to tab your way along or use the mouse to pick the application you want active again.
