iPhone 16 Pro – Power Button Malfunction and Boot Loop Issue

Good evening,

I'm experiencing a recurring issue with my iPhone 16 Pro. The device behaves as if the power button is being continuously pressed, even when it is not. When I physically press the button, the response is inconsistent—most of the time, it does not respond at all.

At random intervals, the power-off slider appears on its own, as if the power button were being held down. If I attempt to shut the device down, it enters a boot loop: the Apple logo appears repeatedly, but the device never fully starts unless it is connected to a charger or a computer.

Interestingly, when plugged in, the device behaves normally—the power button becomes responsive again, and the power-off slider no longer appears unexpectedly. However, once unplugged, the issue returns.

I’ve already updated to the latest iOS version, but the problem persists. I’d like to know if this could be a hardware-related issue or if there's a possibility it's still software-related.

Thank you in advance for your support.

Check the USB-C port for lint or a foreign object.

It almost sounds like something is causing a short, but when you plug in a cable, it pushes whatever it is out of the way...

Odd.

If that doesn't take care of it, I'd make an appointment at the Genius Bar of your local Apple Store.
