This morning, something unusual happened—an additional login ID labeled "SophosEndpoint" appeared alongside my usual ID, asking for a password. I had installed Sophos Endpoint in the past, but this has never happened before. I've now uninstalled the software, but the SophosEndpoint login ID still shows up.
Do you have any advice on how to remove it?

HI John, Thank you for your answer and help! - following your instruction, instead of SophosEndpoint, it just appears a 'Guest User' which is off - clicking on the ( i )sign, there is no option of delete, but 'allow tolog in to computer' is off - which means, it is safe? I wish I could get rid of this phantom ID everytime I turn my iMac on...

In case something goes amiss, be sure to make a good backup first.
If you are describing the unexpected appearance of an additional User Account icon at the login screen, you can delete that User Account according to Delete a user or group on Mac - Apple Support.
Another ID (SophosEndpoint) appears along with my ID asking for password on iMac.
