Why are iCloud files not deleting?

I have files in iCloud that I’ve been trying to delete. I go Settings>Account>icloud>Storage, click on the file, click “Delete Data From iCloud,” click “Delete” to confirm, then click “Permanently Delete” to confirm again. I get a little spinning wheel, then kicked back to the list of files and the file is still there. If it matters, this is for game data, the games are deleted from all my devices, and I am now up to 4 files that are doing this. Why am I unable to delete?

iCloud storage a disaster of access and random files Full disclosure, I’m kind of an idiot when it comes to iCloud. I never really use the storage but somehow stuff ends up in it and I can’t see a rhyme or reason. Well, today, I finally decided to put my big boy pants on and try and figure it out. What I’m finding my main two issues are is; 1) I have files saved in both the cloud and on my iPad but when I go to access them, they’re greyed out. More specifically, if I look in the files app itself, I can access them. When I go to post them on a message forum using safari, I cannot access hardly anything. They’re pretty basic files but even trying to use pages or numbers, they’re grayed out. 2) The cloud is saving very random items, at least to me. Random webpages, shortcuts, very old documents I swore I deleted, etc. it’s just a hodgepodge of “stuff”. How can I edit what it saves and when? Regarding iCloud Files Recently Deleted Tab IOS Hello, just a quick question, on the recently deleted section of the iphone files app, it says “Recently deleted items may be permanently deleted by your storage provider.” Is this normal for the files app to say this? I don’t use some sort of external storage provider for this device. Thank you.

Suddenly Empty Folders in iCloud (Files Disappeared) I pay for the 2TB iCloud storage plan which I access from multiple devices. I just noticed that MANY of the folders in this archive are suddenly EMPTY. The files are gone but the folders are still there. The pattern is too random, and the empty folders are scattered throughout the archive so I don't think it was an accidental delete, mistakenly done by me. It's throughout the file system. PLEASE HELP! I want to trust my iCloud, which I pay for, but I'm afraid to store important things here now. And I need to get my files back.
