How do I reset iPhone 12 Pro Max without deleting Apple Account?

I just wanna ask if i can reset all the contents of my iphone 12 pro max will also delete my icloud account? I have problem regarding signing in my icloud account, i forgot the password, now i want to reset the password on apple but the its say unsupported. What should i do? Thank you and hope you can help me regarding this issue.

For a complete erasure of your iPhone, you’ll need to have your credentials at hand, you will need to put them in when erasing the iPhone. If you have erased it, you can set it up anew with a new apple account, if the iPhone is not yet activated with too many apple accounts
