Apple Watch Series 7 Cellular – No Calls or Data Since Latest watchOS Update (Tried Everything)
Hi everyone,
I'm facing a serious issue with my Apple Watch Series 7 (Cellular edition) since the most recent watchOS update. I can no longer make or receive calls nor use mobile data when the watch is not connected to my iPhone.
Here’s what’s happening:
- When the watch is connected via Bluetooth to my iPhone: everything works fine.
- When the watch is away from the iPhone (cellular-only): no calls go through, and no data connection is available — even though the watch shows the mobile plan as "connected."
Troubleshooting steps I've already tried:
- Restarted both Apple Watch and iPhone.
- Confirmed both are on the latest official watchOS and iOS versions (no beta profiles).
- Unpaired and re-paired the Apple Watch with my iPhone.
- Removed and re-added the cellular plan on the watch.
- Set up the watch from an iCloud backup.
- Set up the watch as a new device, without restoring from backup.
- Removed the Apple Watch from my mobile plan via our company’s mobile connection management portal.
- Took the watch to a certified Apple repair service – no hardware issues found.
- Called my mobile provider – they say everything looks fine on their end.
Additional context:
- No Focus modes are enabled on iPhone or Apple Watch.
- The watch shows the mobile plan and status as “Connected,” but nothing actually works when the iPhone is not nearby.
At this point, I’m out of ideas. Either there's a bug in the latest watchOS, or something else is broken that I can’t pinpoint.
Has anyone experienced this after a recent update or found a solution for a similar issue?
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
