Freezing screen with a black horizontal line on MacBook Air M1 every time when opening the lid beyond 90 degrees

A freezing screen with a black horizontal line appears on my MacBook Air M1 every time when opening the lid beyond 90 degrees. The line appears at different heights in different times. The span is the width of the screen. There’s no physical damage or falling incident. It’s working perfectly when the angle is less than 90 degrees. The age of my MacBook Air is 3+ years. What’s the reason?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 15.4

Thanks HWTech for your reply. Did you face the same issue on same model and the issue resolved after the given solution, please confirm.

If the display itself is faulty, then there must be a specific position where the black line should appear but in my case it appears to random position. I strongly believe that the issue is with display connector cable. It’s not transferring signals after bending a specific angle.

So many people are facing similar issues and we certainly don’t expect such build quality from Apple. If it’s a faulty design of the connector cable, as I believe, Apple should address the issue generously and replace the faulty part to maintain the faith and trust.
