Why does my iPhone 12 Pro Max keep losing service?

My phone started by turning itself off and when it would come back on, it would have no service. I would close apps, restart and it would be fine. This happened a couple times, but then stopped. What's App had put like 300 pics on my phone from some bitcoin community it put me in without asking. I thought it was that. But, yesterday it happened again. I did the toggle airplane mode, turned it on/off, reset network. I tried to reset the whole phone, but the status bar got stuck at the end and I had to wait for the battery to die. It came back on in the same status I started. I even tried deleting my work stuff off the phone. I'm at a loss. I live in a rural area, so there is no chance of my stopping by an apple store.
