How do I fix random sound drops on my iPhone 12?

There are two possibilities:

1. If you are streaming and your iPhone receives a notification it will lower the volume to allow the notification to sound. To turn this off set the Mute switch on the left side of the phone at the top to the back (mute) position.
2. There is a feature called Attention Aware. It will lower notification, ring and other alert sounds if you are looking at the screen. To disable this go to Settings/Face ID & Passcode and turn the feature off.

So you bought a used iPhone 12, had it for a year, and you’re experiencing issues with the volume. Boy oh boy where do we start?

First can you tell us if this is the volume volume, like the one you would adjust when listening to music, etc. Is that volume misbehaving? Or is it the ringer volume that’s fluctuating unexpectedly?

Attention Aware doesn’t affect the volume that plays music to my knowledge. But we’ll not try to make a problem if there is none! 😊 Let us know if you run into any more issues.
