Recover lost information from a Notes.app note
I was taking notes in an important meeting, typing into Notes app on the Mac (OS 15.3.2, Notes 4.11). I did not have internet access so it was not immediately synced to iCloud. I was rushed out of the room and had to just quit my apps & shut down the Mac without enough time to copy/paste my written notes to text file and an e-mail draft--I'd hoped to have that saved in 3 places, but no, it was only in the note.
When I got home and turned on the computer I was first using other apps, and I know I did some copy/paste in Firefox before I opened the Notes app. On opening Notes.app, there was a note whose date/time matched the end of the meeting, but it was titled 'new note' and 'no additional text' appended; the note was blank.
The missing note/missing data was not sitting in the sidebar trash for Notes.app, and the desktop trash bin was completely empty.
I tried a quick paste in case I'd accidentally hit cmd-x after starting to copy with a cmd-c (couldn't remember whether I'd gotten to the point of selecting all text for copy to other apps), nothing.
Tried cmd-z for undo....nothing.
And my now that I was back on wifi, my phone dutifully had synced the blank note through iCloud.
Is there any sort of buffer where I might find my notes anywhere?
I've written again as much as I can remember, but am afraid I will have missed crucial details. And this was not the sort of meeting where I can ask for a redo.....
