How do I request a refund for an Apple Pay transaction?

I’m trying to find out how toa refund from a apple pay transaction

1. If You Paid Through an App or Website:


Refunds are handled by the merchant, not Apple. Here’s what to do:

  • Contact the merchant or app developer directly and request a refund.
  • If they approve it, the refund will be credited back to the original payment method (e.g. your Apple Pay-linked card).


You can usually find merchant contact info in:

  • The app you purchased from
  • Your email receipt
  • The Apple Pay transaction details in your Wallet app (tap the transaction, then scroll down)



2. If You Used Apple Pay In-Store:


  • Go back to the store with the original card you used with Apple Pay.
  • Ask the store to process the refund — they may need to scan or tap your iPhone or Apple Watch again to verify the payment method.
  • If the store has a return policy, they will issue a refund using the same card you used in Apple Pay.



3. Track the Refund:


  • Open the Wallet app.
  • Tap on the card you used.
  • Tap the transaction, and you’ll see refund status once it’s processed (may take a few days, depending on your bank).
