iPhone 13 has pink vertical line on right side of screen

I bought my iPhone 13 Pro new about 3 years ago. It has been working fine, until this morning when a bright pink vertical line has appeared along the far right side of the screen. I thought it was from an app not being closed, but it's not. I restarted the phone a few times, but the pink line is still there. I'm fearing that this is the beginning of the screen filling with lines, then dying out! I hope someone can help. Has anyone else had this issue?

iPhone 13 Pro, iOS 18

Hello!

Force restart the device: Force restart iPhone - Apple Support

If the issue is still there after the forced restart, have the device checked out at an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider (AASP):

Have a great day!

Based on the information provided, it is unlikely that a forced restart would somehow manage to fix a hardware failure.

Therefore, I recommend service.

Good luck! 👋🏼😉

Yes, you can force restart. You’re just not doing it right, that’s all. No worries, try the instructions below.

  1. Quickly press and release the volume up button
  2. Quickly press and release the volume down button
  3. Press and hold the Lock Button until you see the Apple Logo, then immediately release it.

Give it a few tries until you succeed. Make sure to release the power button as soon as the Apple Logo appears.

Ok, at this point I’d recommend you reach out to Apple Support to further discuss this:

You don’t necessarily need to take the device to an Apple Store. You can see if there are Apple Authorized Service Providers (AASP) near you: Find Locations

Good luck

Thank you for the quick reply and the suggestions. I can't force restart. When I press the volume up or down buttons, it just adjusts the volume. Then pressing and holding the right button shuts it down, but doesn't restart. Just the same as a shut down.

I am wondering if this has anything to do with the new OS update. I just did the update a couple days ago, and now this pink line appeared, after the phone has been working fine. Do you know anything about issues with the most recent OS update? iOS 18.4.1

As I said, I tried exactly as described. Pressing the volume button up or down only changes the volume. Then pressing the lock button first brings me Siri, then go to the "slide to shut down" option. This is NOT a restart. It shuts down, then I need to start manually.
