How can I restore Live Photos when AirDropping to MacBook Pro from iPhone?

I used to be able to air drop from my Iphone 15 pro to my Mac Book Pro M4 and keep Live Photos. It gave me a choice to airdrop to Downloads or Photos on my Mac. Now it automatically goes to downloads and converts Live Photos to Portraits.

How do I get Live Photos back when Airdropping to my Mac?

iOS photo import to a mac performs poorly Using my iPhone 15 and trying to import roughly 5'000 pictures and a few videos to my MacBook Pro. The performance is sooo very poor, comparing to an AirDrop which literally is performing a x1000 better. Why is this so bad? When I select multiple photos on my iPhone 11 Pro (iOS 16.3.1) and want to Air Drop them to my Mac (Apple M2 Pro macOS Ventura 13.2.1), I get a notification asking me whether I want to import them to the Photo app or save them to the 'Downloads' folder. I choose saving them to the 'Downloads' folder and what it does is creating a new folder for each single picture within the 'Downloads' folder on my Mac Remark: This only happens when I select the option to Air Drop the pictures with 'All Data'. It's ok with my OLD Mac book Pro 2014 running Catalina !
