Following up on Scam - Case ID: 1*****93

Purchased an Apple gift card. I forward the security code information to a friend on Facebook to purchase a washer and dryer. The next day my friend told me her account was hacked and it was a scam. Looking for a refund for my gift card. I know the scammer place it in his apple wallet account. No other details available. Please provide me a status on Case ID :1*****93

You don't understand.
When I provided the security numbers on the gift card it went to the hacke, not my friend. My friends account was hacked and she has NO access to her own account. It was a hacker and he/she is the one who defrauded me.

The problem is that your friend cannot add an Apple Gift Card to their Apple Pay to help with any washer & dryer purchase. That would indicate your friend was the scammer and took the Gift Card by claiming they were hacked. That kind of scam is not unusual on Facebook. Your best bet is to report your friend to Facebook as that is where you were scammed. You have a case number, so if there is any chance for compensation from Apple, that is entirely up to them, but in my experience that is not likely. It is actually Facebook that allowed the fraud to occur on their platform.

On the bottom of the Gift Card, you can clearly see in red letters to not share the code, That is the problem.

I understand that. The problem is that they added the Apple

gift card to their Apple Pay account. Thats how I was defrauded. The individual

I was working with on Facebook, I thought was a friend. She asked me to

purchase an Apple gift card and she in turn would add it to her Apple pay. The

next day I called her, and she told me she was hacked. The gift card was defrauded.

I forwarded a copy of the Apple gift card to the fraudulent team and said they

will be back next to me in 3-5 business days.

I understand that.

Then there should be no issue.

The problem is that they added the Apple gift card to their Apple Pay account.

Not sure how that's a problem. They can add the gift card to their wallet.

Again, not following. You gave someone a gift card for their use and they added it to the wallet. You were not defrauded.

That's unlikely. But, it's also not your problem, it's theirs.
