Songs I purchased in iTunes now say not available in my region

I have several songs I purchased over the years that suddenly say, "not available in your region." I have not changed my region or anything in my music app or in Apple. I do not have Apple Music, I am just trying to listen to purchased songs in my music app. I did try to go in and "update" my region by clicking on United States, which was already showing, then I tried to accept the new terms, but there was no option to do that. I purchased the songs, so why all of a sudden, with no changes, would I lose them? I can listen to them on every other music provider, so know they are available in my area. Any thoughts or help of any kind would be appreciated.
