'New participants will be able to see all items in the folder' when sharing Apple Numbers document.

The exact same issue as described here

Sharing content when collaborating with o… - Apple Community

and

What does this mean at sharing folder to … - Apple Community

  1. Share an Apple Numbers document with 2 colleagues who just also happen to be in an existing Messages chat. No problem.
  2. Now add an extra person, who isn't in that chat.
  3. Message pops up asking to add the extra person to the existing chat.
  4. Choose 'Keep Seperate' because I want that.
  5. Message Pops up saying "New participants will be able to see all items in the folder" "Folder containing this item is already shared."
  6. Freak out because the 'folder containing that document' is my iCloud>Numbers folder containing 100s of private financials etc that I definitely do not want to share. Also amiss here is that that folder is definitely *not* shared like the message would have me believe.
  7. Now. Unshare the document completely, thinking starting fresh may help.
  8. Move it to it's own subfolder so that it's the only thing in there
  9. Reshare to first 2 colleagues. again No problem
  10. Reshare to 3rd Colleage and get the same popup messages as before.

Now I'm just left wondering which folder is it talking about? Is this even safe to do? Why is it so confused? Apple usually has a good handle on this stuff.
