Pages is a word processing application and not a PDF reader, so no, you cannot open a PDF in Pages. What you can do is drag and drop one-page PDFs or PDF-based artwork into Pages as scalable document objects.


If you need to open a PDF file, do so in Apple's Preview application. This in turn, is not a PDF editor.
