Besides MIDI Learn, can I use MIDI programming in a track’s automation?

Can CC#s and PCs be put in the automation track like in Cubase?

In Cubase, for example:

1. CC #’s can be entered in a track’s automation to alter instrument or plugin parameter values.
2. Program Changes (PC)s can be entered in a track’s automation to change presets or whatever a PC can control.

I cannot find anything like this in the Logic Pro User Guide.
