Hearing Aid Switching Between Apple Devices

Greets:

I have a pair of Philips hearing aids that support Bluetooth 4.2. I have been using them with my iPhone regularly for audiobooks and podcasts.

I'd like to use them with my iPad Pro, and I know that they can be paired.

But I only need to use one device at a time with the hearing aids. My understanding is that with Bluetooth 4.2, there can be switching issues with devices. To that end, I'd like to find out the easiest way to turn off Bluetooth hearing aid access for one device so that it can work on the other when they are near each other. I don't wish to unpair, and I don't want to have to go into Accessibility on device every time I want to just disconnect (and then reconnect) rather than "Forget" (which I definitely do not want).

I was hoping that one of the Accessibility Shorcuts options allow for simple disconnect and connect, but it does not appear that this is the case.

I'd appreciate any info that would help; thank you!

An update.

I haven't tried the Shortcuts idea as yet, and for now I may not have to.

I found that I'm able to strike a balance when using my hearing aids between the iPhone and iPad Pro, so long as I have it so that the hearing aids can have a stream from one device or the other. I am being mindful that when I no longer wish to stream from the iPhone, I would pause the stream. I would then wake up my iPad, then start the audio stream there when desired. And when I wish to switch back to the iPhone, I'll pause audio on the iPad, then go with the iPhone.

In my testing so far, this has worked out and has so far been reliable. This is what I can live with for now, knowing that I do have the Shortcuts instructions if I need it.

Thanks again, and hope this can help a few others.
