Connecting MIDI output from Max/Msp to Logic Pro

I want to record MIDI output from Max/MSP 9.0.5 in Logic 11.1 on a MBP. I know to set MIDI out in Max to "from Max 1" and it should show up in a Software Instrument track, but it's not working. I've assigned Blackhole for routing. I've done this before but don't know why it's not working this time.

What's the setup for outputting audio from a Max dac~ object (or equiv) to Logic?

To route Audio from Max to Logic, you now need to use BlackHole.

In Max:

Open the Audio Status/Settings (double-click the dac~ object). Select BlackHole as an Output device, choose the appropriate channel-version that suits your needs.

In Logic:

Open the Audio Settings and select BlackHole as an Audio Input Device, choose the same channel-version as in Max. Create one or more Audio Tracks, set the input(s) in the channel strip(s) and enable record. Now you are ready to record audio like usual.

It should work right away.

In Max:

Make sure in the "noteout" object, an appropriate output option is selected: from Max1/2, Logic Pro Virtual In or IAC. And the corresponding outputs are activated in the Midi Setup.

In Logic:

Just select a software instrument track with a software instrument inserted. If you still don't hear/see any input, use command+0 (zero) to open the Environment, select Layer: Click & Ports. You should see in the Physical Input Object from Max 1 and from Max 2.

BTW: BlackHole routes audio but not midi.
