Data defaults to duration (days) and won't let me change to number
I've calculated the number of days between 2 dates, subtracting Jan 1/25 from Aug 2/25, resulting in 213 days. Numbers automatically recognizes the 213 as days, which is fine.
I am using that 213 days and multiplying it by a cell that is just formatted as a number (20), but the result (4260) will only format as duration. I want it to be formatted as a number.
The idea is using a goal of reading 20 pages/day (blue highlighted cell), multiplying that by the total days this year so far, 213 as of today (red highlighted cell), resulting in 4260 as the goal number of pages for today (green outlined cell). I need that 4260 number to not be days, but to be a number. When I try to add a conditional highlight for the 4581 to be green, if it's greater than or equal to the goal number (4260), it doesn't work because 4260 is formatted as days. (I know the conditional highlight isn't the problem because the same formula works for the 21.5 cell, which you can see is filled green, since it's greater than the goal of 20.)
Thanks in advance for any advice! I've run into this duration cell formatting issue before and it's started to drive me nuts! I figure there has to be a simple fix, or something I'm missing...
