Why do I have Midi data on different channels in the same track?

Currently, I have a mini region with some notes showing data on many channel 2 and other notes showing data on channel one. How does this happen? I'm guessing this is from copying MIDI from another track onto the current track. How do I get all my MIDI data on the same channel rather than some on channel 1 and some on channel 2?
