Ensuring no charges for free trials in Apple subscriptions

You do it by making sure you cancel the trial before it is too late.

• Free trials will usually automatically turn into paid subscriptions unless you cancel in time.

i may be mistaken, but I believe that you must cancel a free trial at least 24 hours before it is scheduled to end. Otherwise it turns into a paid subscription.

That answer is simple. If you don't think you will cancel the free trial 24 hours before the trial ends to avoid a subscription charge, then don't sign up for the free trial in the first place. You can set a reminder to cancel the free trial if you don't think you will remember, it is a simple as saying "Siri remind me to cancel the free trial on xxxx at xx:xx"

And another idea is to simply avoid starting subscriptions altogether.

That's my primary choice. Fine other ideas may be, search internet

and try to remove your personal information already out there. That

can be a large-layered chore; more work than a steelwool scrubber!

Note also that you generally do not get a free trial if you have ever had a free trial, or been a subscriber, before.
