Is it normal for a new MacBook Air to have two boot records before purchase, specifically, in June 2025? Was my computer used by someone else before I bought it?

I would think that Apple themselves (at the manufacturing stage as well as possibly later) would need to boot the Mac a couple of times for verification of proper operation and testing before they ship it. I would think that they wouldn't want to blindly ship a dead Mac.
This is the same thing as buying a new car that has a few miles on the odometer...you're never going to get one without something on the odometer.

Apple may have to test your Mac before purchase and if you feel uncomfortable about that just send it back to apple and let them to change one for you and you can see the record. Don't expect to get a Mac with zero boot record
